Wow! What a classic this is eh. Being part of the “Navitimer” collection puts this watch high up on the radar – it’s full of character and it holds some deep heritage which I’m sure all of you wouldn’t mind carry forth on your wrist. It was created and originally designed for pilots in 1952, as you can imagine… from the bold and easy to read dial, to the large and well-spaced out pushers and crown.
Although this Breitling Navitimer was originally crafted for pilots, I think it’s fair to say, that this watch is a perfect everyday contender – it’s just got that look and feel you know? But it’s not just about that “look and feel”, because it also comes equipped with some incredible functionalities. This stunning Zenith chronograph named the “Revival”, is inspired and is a re-issue of the “El Primero A384”, which is of a huge significance in terms of it’s history and the story it holds. In 1969 it was introduced, and it was the first self-winding chronograph in the world of haute horologerie – and to mark the 50th anniversary, this limited edition piece is here to display that heritage, and mark a time in history in which is worth a celebration.
I think one of the main focal points this “El Primero A384” holds, is the beautiful dial – contrasting the black and white, along with the unique positioning of the date window (not that uncommon to see on a chronograph), gives it a so much character, and actually allows for the dial to come to life. We could speak about the dial on this watch for a long time… but as you can already see it’s beautiful and you can make your own judgement on the design aspects. So, enough of that, let’s move onto the movement.

Probably one of my favourite chronograph watches to date, is this Jaeger-LeCoultre “Master Control Calendar Chronograph”. It holds that luxurious essence without the need to even try. The dial is clean, positioned well and even includes a moon-phase window, which is always a bonus. Making it the perfect dress watch.
The watch resembles that of the round watch cases, which were produced by the house in the mid-20th century. So, it holds that history and retains it within the design, which is truly wonderful. This particular chronograph is warm and rich, which is down to the fact it has a polished Le Grand Rose Gold case, and a pin buckle-fastening brown alligator strap. But let’s move more into the functionality of this watch, such as the movement.

With every single movement being crafted at the Swiss village of la Côte-aux-Fées (where it was founded, in 1874) – you know you’re going to be getting a cracking watch. This particular Piaget Chronograph takes a sporty twist on the hyper-glam Eighties iconic “Polo” watch. As an everyday chronograph, this watch takes the reigns, especially when it comes down to a sporty watch.
The blue horizontal guilloché dial adds this characteristic, that allows for the two sub-dials to really pop, and it sort of gives off this darker and rich essence, that I’m sure a lot of you love… I definitely do. This chronograph doesn’t just highlight it’s qualities through the aesthetics though, because it’s also home to some incredible features, such as the 100m water resistant depth, as well as the Swiss-made calibre 1160P automatic chronograph movement, which is cushioned within the walls of the stainless steel case.

It takes the familiar stainless steel case we like to see, along with the tapered lugs and the anodised aluminium bezel of the “V2-92” series – and mixes it together with a luminous dial (which comes equipped with Super-LumiNova) and completes it with oversized Arabic numerals.

With Junghans being driven by “an innovative spirit and the incessant pursuit of precision”, means the “Meister Driver Chronoscope” is a classic example of pure and excellent craftsmanship. With a respectable 30m water resistant depth, you can wear this on a daily basis.
